NADA - Reducing waste in construction projects with new solutions

Waste connected to construction projects is something that has been difficult to reduce. Reducing such waste could contribute to less impact on environmental resources and also cutting costs. To solve this SINTEF, together with partners Oslo, Asker and Bærum Municipality has created the project NADA (Nye anskaffelser for dokumentert avfallsreduksjon).

The aim for this project is “for public developers to be able to set requirements for waste-free construction sites through innovative public procurement” (SINTEF, u.d.). To reach this goal the plan is to create methods, tools and framworks for public developers to use in projects. The project will last from 2021 to 2024.

In March of 2022, Daniel Tabacaru of Again X was invited to have a talk about the topic. The listeners got insight into the impact both new and old buildings have on the enviroment. They also learned about the types of waste found on construction sites connected to chemicals and materials. The SaaS-platform which Again X has developed could play a role in the way developers handle waste. The users get insight into emissions and waste connected to the entire process.
