Environmental mapping course under the auspices of RIF

Daniel Tabacaru of Again X participated on a course under under the auspices of RIF over a 5-day period. RIF is and independent association that focuses on the consulting engineering firms. RIF works on facilitating the companies that make up this industry, so that they can solve societal tasks in the best possible way. Talented people from companies such as MycoTeam, Sweco, Nonconsult were also present.

On this particular course the topic was on substances harmful to health and the environment in building materials. Harmful materials, substances and chemicals can be found in both the exterior and interior facade of a building. It’s important to recognize these harmful components and act upon them.

Daniel found the course both incredibly exciting, informative but also depressing. Our Toxicity module targets the information taught in this course and gives users and developers insight into what their building really consists of. It’s important for Again X to always broaden our knowledge about this area and other factors related to buildings and construction.

The course helps us understand the history of the buildings before and after WW2 and their environmental impact. It is also fundamental for us in developing the algorithms that substantiate the risks of hazardous and harmful substances in the building that we map.
